The genius behind the Cake Emporium is Isabel Valenzuela, a talented young Cuban painter who graduated from the historically reowned Art Academy of San Alejandro in Havana, Cuba; and the Art School of Costa Rica where she traded her paint brushes for sugar in hopes of converting her confectioner's shop into a permanent testimony of her inspirational art.

Isabel's childhood memories are chronicled through layers of chocolate creams and homemade sweets her grandmother passed down to her. These unique sensuous creations of confectionery are what lured Rafael Valenzuela, her husband, into applying his broad mastery of sculpture on unique cake themes in which every figurine has a role.

To visit Cake Emporium, is like marveling at an art gallery where you will feast your senses to the scents and shaped. Flowers made of sugar, pastillaje figurines, chocolate cake, rum and vanilla cakes, carrot, Colombian black cake are just a few of the assortment available to all tastes for any occasion you deem your guests deserve to embark on a great savoring experience.

Initially, you will wonder if these figurines are sculptures or simply porcelain confectionery only seen on gourmet magazine covers.

More than a product of consumption, Cake Emporium specializes in reproducing edible themes, either from photographs, paintings, religion, films, or your own creation, all in sugar.

our product represents a fusion of traditions and inherited cultures that definitely enrich the craft of the fine confectionery.
